MX-Phenyl-POSS is a novel POSS product derived from Phenyl-POSS. Compared to conventional POSS，MX-Phenyl-POSS possesses significantly enhanced solubility by hundreds of folds (Table 1). MX-Phenyl-POSS can be used in all existing applications of Phenyl-POSS. Due to its improved solubility, compatibility, and dispersion, also because it costs the same for the production of the new POSS, it is anticipated that MX-Phenyl-POSS would replaced the conventional insoluble phenyl-POSS.
